My story, briefly
I'm Tony Cariker. I started out as an operations supervisor in trucking, then spent years as an IS manager keeping a company's systems running. In 2005 I was laid off.
Instead of starting over, I turned my nights-and-weekends side job — BC Computer Medic — into my full-time work and ran it from 2005 until 2021, helping regular people and small businesses with their computers. Today I work in financial management.
Like a lot of people my age, I look at the retirement numbers and feel behind. So I'm working on raising my income, and I'm sharing the process in the open: the tools, the scripts, the mistakes. No guru act, no income screenshots — just what I'm actually doing.
